A Charlotte venture capital firm just beat out global competition for a top industry title. RevTech Labs Capital won Finovate's Top Fintech VC award, the organization announced Sept. 10.

RevTech Labs Capital co-founder and managing director Dan Roselli said the win reflects years of work by his team.

"The recognition is especially important because RevTechLabs Capital is one of the very few majority Latina-owned venture funds in the country, and democratizing venture funding in America based on the quality of the founder has always been part of our mission, with over half of our 250 investments having a female founder or founder of color on the team," Roselli said.

Finovate, founded in 2007, is a fintech industry organization that runs conferences and an annual awards program. The 2026 awards mark the program's eighth year and recognize banks, fintechs and individuals across more than 30 categories.

Companies apply through a nomination process that opens earlier in the year. Finovate staff review submissions and narrow the field to a shortlist of finalists in each category.

A panel of nearly 30 industry judges then selects the winners. The panel includes people from major financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM), Mastercard Inc. (NYSE: MA), Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE: WFC) and American Express Co. (NYSE: AXP).

RevTech Labs Capital beat two other finalists in the Top Fintech VC category: Hong Kong-based Hashkey Capital and New York City-based Motive Partners.

RevTech Labs Capital is the venture fund arm of RevTech Labs, a Charlotte-based fintech and insurtech company. Roselli and his wife, Sara Roselli, co-founded the organization in 2012 as a startup accelerator. The firm launched its venture fund business in 2018.

RevTech Labs runs a nonprofit accelerator program that recruits founders from around the world. The venture fund then invests in top companies that come through that pipeline. RevTech Labs Capital has completed 24 cohorts. The firm wrapped up applications for its 25th cohort last month.

Dan Roselli said the award should help the firm raise its next fund.

"This will allow RevTechLabs to attract more national and institutional investors into our next fund and continue to grow the capital we can deploy to help founders across the world create jobs and drive the economy," he said.
